Sinan Bangle - Verdelite
A one carat natural verdelite, round cut, set into a slim 18k yellow gold bangle and circled by a halo of VVS natural diamonds. Verdelite is the green variety of tourmaline, cooler than emerald, quieter on the skin, and it reads especially well against yellow gold. The bangle carries an engraved mashrabiya motif along its outer curve, geometry borrowed from the carved screens of the Islamic world. The form is named for Mimar Sinan, the 16th century Ottoman architect of Süleymaniye and Selimiye, whose pattern discipline runs through the line. Hand applied green enamel deepens the stone. Worn alone for daily, paired with a warm yellow band for an evening, the green sits between the two metals like a leaf between fingers.
