Sinan Pendant - Verdelite
A one carat natural verdelite, round cut, set in 18k yellow gold and ringed by a halo of VVS natural diamonds. Verdelite is green tourmaline, cooler than emerald, quieter on the skin. The body carries an engraved mashrabiya motif, geometry drawn from the carved screens of the Islamic world. The pendant is named for Mimar Sinan, the 16th century Ottoman architect of Süleymaniye and Selimiye, whose discipline of pattern and proportion runs through the line. Hand applied green enamel deepens the green of the stone. The pendant releases from its chain and clips onto another as a charm, so the piece moves with the day it is wearing.
