Sinan Ring - Rubellite
A one carat natural rubellite, round cut, lifted on 18k rose gold and held in a halo of VVS natural diamonds. Rubellite is the pink-to-red variety of tourmaline; against rose gold it reads warm even in cool light. The shoulders are engraved with a mashrabiya motif, geometry borrowed from the carved screens of the Islamic world. The ring is named for Mimar Sinan, the chief Ottoman architect who built Süleymaniye and Selimiye, whose vocabulary of pattern shapes the collection. Hand applied pink enamel deepens the rose of the stone. Worn alone on the middle finger, the stone reads warm against skin. Stacked with a slim 18k band, the pattern catches first.
