Sinan Ring - Verdelite
A one carat natural verdelite, round cut, lifted on 18k yellow gold and held in a halo of VVS natural diamonds. Verdelite is green tourmaline, cooler than emerald, quieter on the skin. The shoulders are engraved with a mashrabiya motif, geometry drawn from the carved screens of the Islamic world. The ring is named for Mimar Sinan, the 16th century Ottoman architect of Süleymaniye and Selimiye, whose pattern discipline runs through the collection. Hand applied green enamel deepens the green of the stone. Worn alone, the stone reads cool against skin. Layered with a warm 18k yellow band, the contrast does the work.
